Odious ODS

It's amazing what comes around, goes around.  I've written many programs, accounting for "old school" issues like word alignment, etc.  This goes back to my original IBM 360 assembler days.   And now here I go again, porting Notes API products from Windows to Linux and other x64 systems and learning (or relearning) "old school" issues like word alignment, etc.   I suppose I could have written with these ideas in mind in the first place, but I thought that was all behind me.  The dinosaur takes three steps forward, two back.

What? not me, not ever

I sit here writing my first MMW post, next to the most recent addition to our family.  It has been nine months since Cooper came to live with us.  Cooper is a black, male, standard poodle.  Now I never, ever saw myself as a "poodle" person, yet I've had to Eat My Words (as opposed to "Marking My Words").  Cooper is smart, gentle, soft, loving, and quite possibly a perfect pet.

So now, I wrestle with the notion that perhaps I had those "foofy poodle people" all wrong.  How could that be?
